My coworkers and I decided to be "ladies who lunch" and check out the chic little eatery, The Westside Local. They offer locally grown, farm-to-table food at reasonable prices. I enjoyed the atmosphere, which included high ceilings, exposed brick, local art and fresh flowers.
I wanted something light for lunch so I ordered a salad and soup.
The Westside Local spinach salad includes roasted apples, walnuts, rosemary goat cheese and maple balsamic vinaigrette. My favorite thing about this salad was the dressing, which was not too sweet, and mixed well with the goat cheese. If you like balsamic, you'll love this dressing.
I actually ordered the tomato fennel soup but received the beef stew...a lucky mistake because I loved it! The carrots, meat and potatoes were swimming in a delicious beef broth with a hint of rosemary. Very hearty, but I didn't feel weighed down after I ate it. There's one messed up order I didn't mind!
And as a side note:
A random picture of the flowers at our booth. So pretty.
