Open Fire Pizza

Finally, a place in Kansas City where you can get organic pizza and espresso, while taking in a local art show in an eco-responsible facility!

Open Fire Pizza in Westport certainly invites a wide range of demographics by offering locally grown organic food, an artist gallery, studio space and a cafe within its 7000 square foot, zero trash, solar power-lit building.

I just went for the pizza.

Nothing to complain about here. The thin, hand tossed crust was perfect. The sauce didn't stand out very much but the toppings (pepperoni, Italian sausage, olives, and green peppers) were fresh and flavorful.

What I appreciated most about Open Fire Pizza was the value. For $7 you can get a medium pizza with your choice of toppings. With fresh, local and organic ingredients I don't know why you would go to Pizza Hut again.

This is where the magic happens...

The bar was huge, although not many people were there to drink at 4 p.m. on a Wednesday.

An all-around good pizza place. Calzones to coffee, I'm sure you'll find something to like.
