Located on the corner of Mill and Westport Road, Freebirds World Burrito entices fellow hungry people and nearby bar goers with an array of wrapped and filled entrees for any size appetite.
Although Freebirds doesn't open its doors officially until tomorrow, I attended the soft opening for lunch.
The psychedelic hippie theme is splashed throughout with peace signs, bright colors and large chalk signs adorning each wall. The Pot Brownies on the dessert menu could also clue you in on the theme, but alas, no real pot is used.
Freebirds offers several more options than their well established competitor, Chipotle. Note their extensive list of more than 32 Freebies, Sauces and Salsas. To add more fuel to the competitive fire, Freebirds also makes a seven pound burrito. You read that right friends, seven flipping pounds.
This Veggie Burrito Bowl was constructed from a line of eight Freebirds employees who chatted with me cheerily as they added my toppings, despite the line of 30 people behind me. I was impressed by these happy burrito-makers...were there some real Pot Brownies in the back that I didn't know about?
That's fresh jalapenos, tomatoes and cilantro. Mmmmm.
The chips and salsa were a decent companion to my meal.
I brought along a companion so I could eat his food as well...
